A GREAT PREMIERE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

From 22 to 29\nSeptember, the Schuman Roundabout in the heart of Brussel\u2019s European District\nwill be transformed into a vast multi-sports centre for all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We invite you\nto come along, to discover and participate in these days of collective\nwell-being, with activities including: basketball, rugby, martial arts, yoga and\nrelaxation, fencing, chess, dance and many other surprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For one week\nevery year, the European Commission, under the Erasmus+ program, launches a\ncampaign to promote sport in 41 countries. The Commission oversees a vast\nnetwork of partners and associations, which actively convey the message of \u201csport\nand well-being\u201d and motivate all citizens to engage in physical activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this week,\nthe Schuman Square Association and its partners will install a multi-sports ground\non the Schuman Roundabout and an impressive marquee over the esplanade on Rue\nde la Loi. Being very conscious of sustainability, the entire floor will be\ncovered by recyclable vinyl in the colours of the European flag. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These temporary\ninstallations will provide an area for sports enthusiasts of all disciplines,\nages, physical abilities and nationalities to come together, with sport being\ntheir common ground. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among other activities, this includes Finnish boot-throwing, the Baltic\nstates and their passion for basketball and chess, a diverse range of martial\narts and their champions, the Celtic nations and cricket, the promotion of yoga\nas a complement to sport, Bollywood dances, China\u2019s millennia-old sporting\ntraditions, the Beau V\u00e9lo de Ravel, fencing or the art of touching with a bladed\nweapon, salsa and Zumba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the initiative\ntaken by Schuman Square Association, the week\u2019s activities have been made\npossible by close collaboration with ADEPS and its members, the City and Region\nof Brussels municipalities, the neigbouring European Institutions and others\npresent in the neighbourhood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
